Firefox and security certificates: The right way to handle encryption with Firefox 3
Firefox and security certificates (3 web pages).

Secure data transmission on the internet relies on encryption and security certificates. Mozilla has revised the way Firefox 3 handles certificates, but not always for the better. A few modifications will sort things out – and give you more security.

Dear lotuseclat79, Now you have really addressed the problem i am facing! How safe is a credit card info' when ordering a shareware? I use FF3...,and have disabled java and javascript which really limits the space i can operate in. I will be shortly downloading the add-ons mentioned in the article in www.h-online.com, which you so kindly posted! Thanks a lot. In FF3, under "options"(Content) in the drop down menu in "Tools", one has to UNTICK "enable java" and "enable javascript", otherwise the very purpose of Noscript add-on is lost! How far does the article help in providing safety, once you comply with the advice suggested there?

In the snapshot, you can see how much i am cramped for space and safety! By the way the "quotes" at the bottom of your post are thought-provoking indeed!

Hi perfume,

If you do not have the Firefox add-on NoScirpt, get and install it, then you can enable both Java and Javascript and let NoScript take care of the problems by properly setttting the prefernces.

In answer to your last question, yes it improves your security very much - which we could all stand to do! I have!
