Hi,

I was just wondering weather anyone can advise me on which of the two internet sercuriy is the best ? which one would you recommend I get ?

http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/s....html?AVG-IS8O or

http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/s...e.html?KAS-IS8

Also, I am not sure weather I can use these on more than one computer, is this possible?

Usually two anti-virues or firewalls shouldn't be running at the same time.

If you're going to pay, then Kaspersky seems to be the way to go, otherwise Avira Antivirus and Comodo Internet Security suite (just the firewall).

Yes Kaspersky over AVG and Avira if you're going the free route. Avg was good in the past but hasn't kept up lately. Also Comodo Firewall as previously stated is a good free choice for firewall. Don't install the toolbar that is checked and there is no need for their antivirus program. Just the firewall and maybe Comodo Safesurf although not too sure what that does yet.

It's always good to go to a site like download.com/cnet.com and check the reviews of the software choices you have. Sometimes there is a better free choice.

The safesurf in older versions protected you from buffer overflows, but in the most recent version they interegrated the buffer overflow protection into defense+ so there's no more need for the safesurf.

Even though they still have it as an option when installing...I guess for people that want the safesurf toolbar or because it's actually an ask toolbar and I think they get money for having it there.

If you are looking for the free software programs then Avira is a quite good antivirus program. You can also use "Antimalwarebytes" and "Superantispyware" for malwares and spywares.

People keep saying to only install the Comodo Firewall, but I think they would be surprised to see how much progress the Antivirus component of Comodo Internet Security has made recently, with around 2.5 million signatures.

The next stage will be integration of BOClean and improved heuristics based on CIMA. For now CIS plus BOClean will make you as secure as you can be, without spending any money.

Dear Gizzy,
To protect from buffer overflow, Comodo Memory Firewall does an admirable job ,once it's properly configured.http://www.memoryfirewall.comodo.com/ .

Yes that's what's been included into the defense+ part of comodo internet security so if you use defense+ then comodo memory firewall isn't needed since it's built-in,

But for people that don't want the entire defense+ or comodo internet security it works nicely as a stand-alone.

Another vote for Kaspersky and BTW, the Avg free antivirus is no different than the free one except in method of updating and the Internet Sec Suite has a bad firewall, pathetic anti spam ware, and second rate antispyware that in no way offers you total protection, imho!
