Solved: can't install avg free
I am trying to install avg free and uninstall Norton. IE either shuts down or re-directs to other websites and won't let me install avg

Download a copy of the Norton Removal Tool, reboot into Safe Mode, run NRT and install AVG.

Thanks for your help. I first had to install and run TrojanRemover and then was able to download Norton Uninstaller and load AVG. I think I am all set now.

First try to uninstall norton by using norton removal tool or revo-uninstaller.
