Question Audio Posessed My Laptop
Tonight I was surfing the net and multiple layers of random audio just started playing through my speakers. At first I thought it was an ad but there was nothing on the page that would imply that an audio clip would correspond to. Then I listened closer to hear what appeared to be commercials (t.v.) and music. What is causing this?

Hi Todd33, and welcome to TSG?

Do the sounds start when you open the browser application or can you hear them before opening any programs? Do you happen to have any television or radio transmitting towers nearby?

Audio Posessed My Laptop
The sounds occur when initializing the browser(firefox) and I am going to check for t.v. and radio transmitting towers , but do I need to check in my general area or county wide?

If you don't have the problem when the browser is not running, I don't think the problem is being caused by any kind of nearby (1/4 mile or so) television or radio transmitter bleeding a signal into your audio hardware.

I am not aware of any features or plug-in for Firefox that would cause it to automatically connect to any kind of audio or video stream on a hidden windows. What is your default start-up page in Firefox?

My Home Pafe
First, I just want to thank you for taking the time to help me out. My firefox home page is the mozilla firefox start up google page . I have stopped using firefox because that was the second time I encountered that problem each time it froze my laptop forcing me to do a hard re-boot .

I failed to mention in the first post that it wasn't the first time that had happened to me. Also here is my exact startup page:http://www.google.com/firefox?client...en-US:official

Not sure what the problem could be now. Time to wait and see if any other TSG members can suggest possible causes and solutions.
