Dear Appleton,
which fishes took the bait and which were intelligent enough to identify the bait? The study seems to have been conducted at MITS and they are clammy when i visited the link you supplied!

Is number 12 program, a KAV or KIS2009 because the detection capabilities differ!Programs--4,6,10,11 and probably 18 are security suites and the others are A-Vs.

Humm, sorry but I don't quite get what you are talking about, I only posted a link that is on many other forums, if there is something wrong about that, ask a moderator to remove this thread.
Believe me I have no bad intentions, all I wanted to do is share a test which is not conducted by many others.
As far as I can see this is a test for removing active infections, how is KIS better at removing active infections then KAV? The same goes for Avira, Comodo, F-Secure, G data and McAfee , in what security suites differ in removing capabilities from non security suite versions?

Thanks

Dear Seven Appleton,
Security suites differ from Only A-V programs by their ability to detect both viruses and malware(Trojans, etc). Since all Trojans are not viruses, A-V programs will miss them and the security suites can detect them.

It's just that when i clicked on the link you provided (i use Firefox 3 with Noscript, Ghostery, etc) , i could not see the results of the tests conducted! If you have the results, you are most welcome to post them here, because that was the purpose of the experiment conducted.

Strange, I myself use the same extensions as you do but I see the page, maybe allowing the page will help you open it, and do not worry it has been checked many times for safety.
The reason why I'm not posting the full contents of the page is this : " This test is property of Malware Research Group any unauthorized reproduction of this test is strictly forbidden." I guess that is the reason why most of the sites use the same link as I did.
Now back to Security Suites, they differ from standalone Antivirus programs only because they have extra protection like: Firewall, Hips, Anti Spam, Ad blockers, Parental control...and things in that nature, none of which has anything to do with removing malware, Hips can block malware but not remove (for now at least).
As far as I know, all the popular Antivirus/Anti-Malware programs offer full protection from all the most common types of malware, you can see that by checking the signature updates of all the programs, also simpler way would be to read all the features for each of the programs, there you can see what types of malware they can handle.

Dear Seven Appleton,
If you read my previous post CAREFULLY, i mentioned "detection" but not "removal". Anyway that's a moot point! You can post a snapshot of the results of the webpage i could not access. Your original intention of informing us about which software fared better than the rest should not be side-tracked!

Sorry I was away for a few days and didn't get a chance to answer you. I read every post carefully, and this test is strictly about removal, if you can't detect something, then you will not be able to remove it.
My dear perfume, I do not wish this to become a tenis match between the two of us , it is obvious that we do not share the same opinion on this subject and that is fine by me
