My avg doesn't work...
ok im getting straight to the point
i tried to open my AVG to do a scan but it says that the configuration for this application is wrong and that reinstalling it might fix it
so i go to repair it using the setup option but it says i need some Files package file (file.dat)
but i have no idea what that is
and it looked for it and its not in the AVG folder and i don't have any idea where else it should be

so can someone help me

Hi and welcome.
Try Uninstalling Avg>>through add-remove programs.

And then Reinstall.
Let us know the result.

Dear Godzalo75,
"AVG Remover utility removes all parts of AVG installation on your computer, including registry items, installation and user files on your disk, etc. AVG Remover is the least option to be used in case the AVG uninstallation / repair installation process has failed repeatedly."

The above is a straight quote from Avg and you can completely remove AVG and all it's remnants using the AVG removal tool. Download it from here: http://www.avg.com/download-tools
