Norton anti-phishing turns itself off in vista
Hi
since installing Norton 360 on a Vista laptop, the Norton screen keeps popping up and telling me that anti-phishing is turned off, while I am browing using Internet Explorer. I then turn anti-phishing back on, but within the same browsing session it usually switches itself off again. Has anyone else come across this and knows why it's happening?
Many thanks

I have AVG 8.0 on Windows 7 (based on Vista) and my AVG keeps turning off and a messege pops up saying Turn on AVG anti virus. maybe the compatibility is not suited. Does anybody else know what the solution is.

Hi kingstonkayaker,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.

What version of Windows Vista are you using?

First, make sure that you are using Norton 360 version 3.0. If by chance you are using version 2.0, and your subscription is valid, you are entitled to a free update to version 3, which is highly encouraged. To update to version 3.0, make note of your current Activation Key and then visit the Norton Update Center at the link below.

Norton 360 3.0 Update Center

If you are using Norton 360 version 3.0, open the application, select the "Settings" link at the top of the window and make sure there is a check in the box next to "Antiphishing." If the box is checked and you are still experiencing the problem, then go back to the main Norton 360 screen, mouse-over the "PC Security" bubble and choose "Check for Updates," possibly multiple times, until it informs you that there are no more updates available.

After all of the updates have been applied, perform a "Comprehensive System Scan" with Norton 360 to check for threats.

Let me know if you still have a problem with the Phishing protection.

Thanks,
Mike
