This has to be a simple fix, and I can't find it!

I need to log on as administrator, and forgot my passcode.

I tried to download (name of program removed by Cookiegal), as suggested, no luck.

I'm not sure how this login recovery works. It says they will get the password and then I have to pay them? That does not sound right.

Is there not a simple way to tell my computer I AM the administrator. I AM the owner. and I just want to log in and change my password?

Thanks for reading this question. I so appreciate any help. I'm stuck in my day until I can get this resolved.
