Need help to decide what program to use
I'm using McAfee Total Protection 2009, but it is slowing down my PC, especially Firefox. Now it's time to make a clean install of Windows and i'm thinking of installing something different. Something not so resource consuming. What would you suggest.

PS: I'm using also Spy-bot and Ad-aware Free just for scanning and McAfee for like full protection.

ESET Smart Security is really fast and effective. Very few system resources needed.

What about Avira or NOD? The new ESET seems to have some problems, or at least that is what I've read.

Avira is a great product I've been using on numerous computers for years without issue.

Comes with a real time scanner and is very configurable.

Nowhere near as resource hungry as the Norton product I was using before switching and McAfee is in the same league.

ESET is NOD32 with firewall, anti-spyware, anti-spam... I've heard of issues with the latest version #4. As I always say, "If it ain't broke don't fix it!!!" Version #3 was great!

I was referring to ESET Smart Security. There is ESET NOD32 Antivirus and ESET Smart Security. I was using Avira in the past, but there were some security issues with it and changed it with McAfee. I thinki it (McAfee) is a great program, but it is too consuming. I also think Avira is a good protection program, but it can be improved.

What about AVG, Panda?I forgot to mention that i'm looking for a full protection like McAfee Total Protection.

These days, stay away from AVG...

McAfee is a system resource hog.

I would go with ESS or KIS.
