Hi christina,
This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.
It appears that your installation has possibly become corrupt. Also, since you have valid license to Norton 360 2, you are entitled to a free update to Norton 360 version 3, which is highly recommended. Please Note, that while this process will update you to the latest version of Norton 360, it will not extend your subscription.
Please follow the steps below to properly uninstall Norton 360 2.0 and then install Norton 360 3.0
1. Make note of your current Activation Key which is located on the CD jacket or the email you received if you purchased a digital download. You will use this Key to activate the 3.0 version.
2. Click on the following link to download the Norton Removal Tool:
Norton Removal Tool and instructions
3. After you run the tool, please restart your computer. Then log in to Windows again and run the removal tool again. Restart your computer after it is finished running the second time as well.
4 Visit the Norton 360 3 update site to download the latest installer.
Norton 360 3.0 download
5. During the installation you will be asked for an Activation Key. Enter the Activation Key you have for version 2.
6. When the installation is complete, launch Norton 360 via the Start menu, mouse-over the "PC Security" bubble and choose "Check for Updates" to download and install the latest product and definition updates.
7. When the updates are complete, perform a "Full System Scan" with Norton 360 3.0 to check for infections.
Let me know if you experience any issues with this process.
Thank you,
Mike
