Bad Image Error Messages (HELP)
Hello I am new at this, so please bear with me.

I have an HP Pavilion a1222n, with Win XP Home (installed when purchased new), Norton Symantec anti virus, Google Toolbar.

I get the following error messages one after the other upon start up.

1. Google Toolbar Notifier.exe Bad Image
2. Windows Defender:MSASCui.exe Bad Image.......(and a whole bunch more)
3. qsb.exe Bad Image

I believe these appeared Wed evening as my wife used the PC.

I went to HP online chat to seek help. The person told me to download and install a dll file. I can not tell you the site address as I am not at home typing this letter. Sorry. During the download, the chat was disconnected for some reason??? The next one told us we are missing some files or files are corrupt?? How or Why????

As for wiping the hard drive and reloading it with the factory disks I will lose some programs that I do not have the factory or original software for. I really need some of these programs to work.

Another one told us to HIT F8 and go into Recovery Consul at the start up. That did no good either.

I tried 3 or 4 Systen Recovery Points, but it said no changes were made ....so that did not help either.

A friend of mine said I should not have Windows Defender and Norton both running. They have never been a problem for the last 4 years???

ANY SUGGSETIONS OR HELP?? I am new at this but willing to learn.

Thank You
