Viewing 360 backup log
I have got Version 1.3.3.5 of Norton 360 and am using Windows XP.
I have started to get error messages when I go to back up about it not being completed.
A previous expired thread [to someone else]contained a reply by Mike from Norton Authorized support which said one should click the Backup and Restore > Details>More info links.
But the More info option does not appear on my screen.
Further down the page Mike suggests that I might need to update to a newer version to view this link.
I go to update and there's a load of choices i.e. 1,2,3 some Premium all with no guidance on which one to upload.
But there's another link outside the box [can't remember the number ...think it was 3 something] suggests that this is the latest version so I go to upload it. It reaches 20MB on the download screen and experience of previous disasters tells me to hold fire and find out more before I go ahead.

1 - Can you tell me how to view the back log?
2 - If I get an error message like that does it mean the all the files have backed up except the problem ones or was the whole process aborted.
3 - Any other CLEAR instructions on how to maximise the efficiency/suitability of my Norton set up would be appreciated.

Hi roberthorse,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.

The log feature for Norton 360 version 1 is not integrated into the main interface and is a separate application. The location of the executable is the following: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared and then open ccLgView.exe.

As long as you have a valid subscription to Norton 360, I would strongly advise you to take advantage of the free update to Norton 360 3.0, which contains many new and enhanced features, including many enhancements to the Backup feature. The Log Viewer is now part of the main user interface as well. Please NOTE, that while this will update you to Norton 360 3.0, it will not extend your subscription.

To update to the latest version, please visit the Norton 360 Update Center at the link below.

Norton 360 Update Center

Let me know if you need any additional assistance.

Thank you,
Mike
