Firewall settings
I often get product up-dates etc that I do not want and other intrusions.
I am trying to be SURE what Vista Firewall settings to use.
Can someone help to clarify the following, please:

If I set "BLOCK ALL INCOMING CONNECTIONS" will it do just that? Block ALL those trying to communicate or change things?

On the EXCEPTIONS TAB are those items with ticked boxes still allowed through despite the above?

If items on this list are not ticked - what is the effect?

What happens with items deleted from the list?

So - if I want my virus programme and Spybot to update - but NOTHING else - What needs to be done?

A detailed reply would be so appreciated. Thanks.
