Exclamation Solved: How on earth was my e-mail hijacked?
Hi guys,

I got all of my 3 emails compromised today. All three were forwarding some emails to each other. None of the other emails accounts I own were touched.

My machine is pretty clean I'm so sure of it (scanned with various programs), and I'm hardly ever logged in to the web interface, since I use outlook to check my emails.

How else could someone compromise my email?

I've restored the most important email already, but I'd like to prevent such attacks in the future.

Any ideas?

Your help is much appreciated

That's a confusing statement ???
Are you sure it's your computer .. And not another spoofing you email addresses ??

I'd stick in some bad addresses in your address book such as Masp@A0l.net .. A(zero)L
and see if you get some notices that they cannot be found.

You might want to backup your address book .. and empty it for a while.

Sorry I meant that 3 of my accounts (which happen to be gmail) got compromised. None of the other accounts I use were touched.

And I knew they were compromised because it didn't accept my password, and I had to contact google to restore it.

How is the address book related to this by the way?

I figured it was something like that

Not sure how gmail works .. But if OE in your computer .. A virus can send email to those in your address book .. And Spoof the sender as someone else in your address book.

Sounds like this is another problem .. Gmail Got hacked ????
I wouldn't know how to shutdown the Gmail Address book ..
But this is probably like shutting the gate after the horses got out.

Just found out what the problem is. It seems there was a problem in Gmail, where it made it think I'm entering the wrong password. I've tried a few hours later and everything works.

Damn you Gmail! almost gave me a heart attack!
