I recently disabled Windows Defender after deciding to use another Firewall. It didnt work out so i enabled W.Defender again. On my Security Centre settings it shows that Firewall is “on”. But for some reason it will not load now. When i try to load it I get a message "Application failed to initialise 0x800106ba"

Possibly related to the problem is that i continue to get get a Windows Update notice saying KB 915597 has been downloaded and is ready to instal. So each time, I instal it and get confirmation that installation is complete. But next update there's old friend KB 915597, “downloaded and ready to instal.” Again!

Help wd be appreciated.
