I disagree with this one:

Quote:
1. Augment your anti-virus tool
Threatfire is designed to work alongside existing security products. Unlike traditional anti-virus tools, it doesn't rely on signatures to identify malware; instead, it monitors your PC for suspicious malware-like behaviour. The only time you'll hear from the program is when it's found something suspicious; otherwise it'll sit silently in the background.
I had ThreatFire installed on a computer to see how it worked with another anti-virus program (Kaspersky) Well, my anti-virus hung up while trying to do a update. When ThreatFire decided to do a scan. I know, ThreatFire claims to "works alongside your other security programs –in most cases you can use ThreatFire with your other antivirus" In my case it did not... I posted this before and feel the same way at:

Dear lotuseclat79,
I fully agree with Kenny94's post. I had and have KIS2009 and installed Threatfire. Boom, computer crashed and because i take incremental updates on a Backup and Restore using Macrium Reflect (To an extn.HDD), could save my skin! This incident happened 4 months back.

Hi, Dear srprashant,
Lotuseclat93 is recognized as one of the foremost experts in security issues. I really would like to know whether a KIS2009 and Threatfire conflict exists or the same problem occured to folks using other security suites.

In regards to threatfire, " it monitors your PC for suspicious malware-like behaviour" Many antivirus programs already to that. Not all, but many do.

perfume,
as far as my observation goes, kaspersky doesn't really get along with other security products on the system

ThreatFire didn't play nice with Avira either. Wanted to quarantine it.
Good bye ThreatFire.

Dear srprashant,
You are dead right there when you said Kaspersky is finiky, to say the least! I don't know whether you observed it or not, that while installation of KIS2009, it asks that Spybot S&D bee removed! Now we know that Avira too had similar problems with Threatfire! Thanks for the info' akaHothead!

Just installed. Could not get configured for gMail or Yahoo mail.
Only seemed to recognize Outlook Express.
