1. Augment your anti-virus tool
Threatfire is designed to work alongside existing security products. Unlike traditional anti-virus tools, it doesn't rely on signatures to identify malware; instead, it monitors your PC for suspicious malware-like behaviour. The only time you'll hear from the program is when it's found something suspicious; otherwise it'll sit silently in the background.
| I had ThreatFire installed on a computer to see how it worked with another anti-virus program (Kaspersky) Well, my anti-virus hung up while trying to do a update. When ThreatFire decided to do a scan. I know, ThreatFire claims to "works alongside your other security programs –in most cases you can use ThreatFire with your other antivirus" In my case it did not... I fully agree with Kenny94's post. I had and have KIS2009 and installed Threatfire. Boom, computer crashed and because i take incremental updates on a Backup and Restore using Macrium Reflect (To an extn.HDD), could save my skin! just have KIS2009 installed as of now | | Senior Member with 1,585 posts. | | Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: An Alien,a misfit on Earth Experience: Intermediate++ | | Hi, Dear srprashant,
Lotuseclat93 is recognized as one of the foremost experts in security issues. I really would like to know whether a KIS2009 and Threatfire conflict exists or the same problem occured to folks using other security suites. | | Senior Member with 957 posts. | | Join Date: Nov 2001 Location: 172 Miles S of Microsoft Corp Experience: Advanced but no Expert | | In regards to threatfire, " it monitors your PC for suspicious malware-like behaviour" Many antivirus programs already to that. Not all, but many do. | | Senior Member with 677 posts. | | Join Date: Mar 2009 Location: Mumbai, India Experience: the 9th wonder :P | | perfume,
as far as my observation goes, kaspersky doesn't really get along with other security products on the system | | Senior Member with 677 posts. | | Join Date: Mar 2009 Location: Mumbai, India Experience: the 9th wonder :P |

#12 | Dear srprashant,
You are dead right there when you said Kaspersky is finiky, to say the least! I don't know whether you observed it or not, that while installation of KIS2009, it asks that Spybot S&D bee removed! Now we know that Avira too had similar problems with Threatfire!
