Thoughts about Conflicker Virus Worm
http://www.joestewart.org/cfeyechart.html

We used the conflicker eye chart made by some expert before the links were broken most everywhere but found it not broken HERE (Yet). We got the free removal tool, then tested this chart again and it is no longer in our PC. Will test every now and again to make sure it doesn't come back.

Stayed up all night researching this Conflicker and dealing with ours. Anyone else have any thoughts about this nasty thing? It seems it by-passed our McCaffee security system and it hadn't run for days and was suppose to every day.

Microsoft is offering a reward to who can catch this hacker. I read long ago that only the government has the equipment to track down internet hackers but don't use this for doing so.

I read a lot of the exaggerated and inaccurate coverage about Conficker, particularly the C variant, but haven't used any form of checker. This is because I am up to date with all patches and the various things Conficker affects, System Restore, antivirus and firewall function etc. are all OK.

There is absolutely no doubt that this is a serious piece of malware and that many people that had the C variant before 1st April are likely to have had more malware installed since that date. If you were clean on 1st April and have a reasonable, up to date AV, it probably presents no more threat than any of the other worms/trojans currently in circulation, as long as you take steps to deal with autorun or don't allow anybody to use 'external devices' on your computer (although I assume an up to date AV should catch anything from that source as well).

The most informative piece I found about Conficker is here; http://mtc.sri.com/Conficker/addendu...tall-obfuscate Parts of it are too technical for me, but I can understand enough to appreciate how dangerous it could be.

conficker c
my worst nightmare
I believe I had this
I used to have avast, super antispy...none would update
wont let me visit the security vendors website, it wouldn't even let me visit yahoo answers and many other forums which would provide useful tips for its removal
at that time I really didn't know about this thing.
