Exclamation Need new security !
I have norton 2003 atm with one year left on it
and i was wondering what i should replace it with

some sort of freeware?

If you must go free , I would install Avira Antivir.

IMHO, it would do as good a job or even better than Norton. Norton is a real system resource hog and often causes conflicts with other applications.

Norton can be a pain to get rid off

After norton,
I would recommend going in for kaspersky internet security 2009
or
ESET Nod32
or like phantom010 said, if u wish to go in for free protection u could use avira personal edition

Norton 2009 is very good and is not a resource hog as suggested.
Norton has a whole new system and it is very fast and good.
Download a trial version and see if you like it.

i downloaded the free version of avira and i got malware bytes
but still got norton 2003 and it found a trojan ;s

Do not run both antivirus at the same time though!!!
