I uninstalled the Comodo firewall/av and anti-spyware. The only security software running is Vista firewall.

It's better now, but some images still will not load.

Under Control Panel/Internet Options/Internet Properties/Advanced Tab, scroll down to Multimedia. Is Show Pictures checked?

I solved it. There was a firefox extension called "Microsoft.net framework assistant" that installed itself during a Windows update. That stupid little add-on, from Microsoft to Firefox, without my knowledge, was messing up everything.

I unistalled it - everything is fine.

A) Microsoft really does suck
B) vista is not cool
C) thanks for all the help here
