Please help
I believe my home computer is being monitered. Is there some sort of check that I can do to find out if there has been softward installed and if so how do I remove it?

Do you have any security software? Antivirus, anti-spyware, firewall...?

Hi silverfish,
Could you use the 'report' function in your thread and ask a mod to move your question out of the thread already started?
It get's really difficult when more than one question from more than one member gets in to a string of replies - no one knows who's answering whom about what.

Perhaps you should post a HijackThis log for starters.

Please download and install HijackThis.

Run it and select Do a system scan and save a logfile.

The log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and paste the log in your next post.

Do not fix anything.

From the looks of your log, nothing seems to indicate that you are monitored in any way. But, unfortunately, a HijackThis log, although very useful, doesn't show everything.

You still haven't answered why you think somebody is monitoring your computer. Do you have a wireless network at home? Is it secured?

What e-mail program are you using to send you e-mail messages?

Do you have multiple accounts on your computer or only one accessible to the whole family?

You don't need the log anymore. You can keep the program if you want but it's not necessary.
