Hello! For the past three months, my desktop computer has been taking about 5 times as long to start up as usual. I believe that I may have malware which is slowing the start-up and performance of my computer. Do you have any recommendations as to how I can speed up the start time of my computer and remove malware. Thank you so much for your time and consideration!

Please download and install HijackThis.

Run it and select Do a system scan and save a logfile.

The log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and paste the log in your next post.

Do not fix anything.

Thank you Phantom010. I recently received Fios and the Verizon folks said that I would no longer need anti-virus software. Was this bad advice?

Ok, they've included an antivirus with their service.

I'm not familiar with the service so I can't give you any advice on it.
