General Trend Micro HouseCall 6.5 Question
Sorry for the noobish Q.

I have never had any virus/adware/malware problems in my life until last week when three different, unrelated PCs all got hit with Google redirects.

After removing items using tools as directed I decided to go online to Trend Micro and run the free online scans.

While I cannot explain the point which it occurs the home PC that I'm trying to do this on seems to reboot itself at some point during the scan. Is this normal activity or protocol for HouseCall? I tried scanning twice today already and notice that each time I log back into the home machine it has completely rebooted itself despite the fact HouseCall says it will be a 10.5 hour scan.

Any insight is appreciated.

I've tried Housecall before and i don't remember it rebooting my PC. Give Panda Activescan a try.

Do as LunarLander said,
Under normal circumstances, TrendMicro HouseCall doesn't reboot itself.
Maybe it is being disabled by some malware

I would also recommend running a bitdefender online scan

Major infection here with W32.IRCbot. Symantec never found anything this PC until last night. Lame. Starting a new thread to deal with the infection.

Now it turns out this one here at work appears to be infected with something as well. Btdefender caused a BSOD. Probably a chance it passes through RDP?
