SUPERAntiSpyware 4.26.0.1002 Released
Here is a download link to it.

If it detects version 4.26.0.1000 or an older version installed, it'll uninstall it first before installing the new version.

I've already installed and run a scan and tested it.

----------------------------------------------------------------

This is the information in the change log:

* Definition server connection enhancements
* Enhanced Vundo detection/removal
* Updated technology to handle the hi-jacked USERINIT.EXE
* Numerous technology additions to the scanning engine to deal with new rootkit infections
* Enhanced Diagnostic Abilities

If WinPatrol barks at me one more time telling me that SASW is trying to add itself to my Startup list ...
I'll gonna Kill it.

Edit ... I couldn't even finish this post .. It's DEAD

Yep. It adds itself to the SCU "Startup" tab list, so I uncheck it.

It's a free version and doesn't give "real time" protection anyway, so there's no need for it to load and run.

And I prefer to do manual starts and scans - after I first update the definition files.

Hi flavallee,

Is there any real advantage to upgrading to the " Paid " Version ...?, would You recommend upgrading ..??.

Many Thanks,

I’ve removed SASW .. Then reinstalled it .. and made sure it's not running.
It’s not in my startups .. or my active tasks.
It still keeps trying to add itself to my startups about every minute or two.

I only scan with it occasionally to see if my AVG or CCleaner missed something.
Since it never finds anything .. I won't miss it.

I don't need this nagware ...

If you want "real time" protection and to have it automatically check for updates every 8 hours, then get the paid version.

I personally don't let anything run in "real time", except for Grisoft AVG 8.5. I don't even keep "Automatic Updates" set to automatic. I prefer to have control over doing scans or having something downloaded and installed.

Dear flavallee,
I have the SAS Pro and it automatically updated to the new version. Anyway, thanks a lot for the reminder, as i had to go and check which version's running!

Dear Noyb,
Have some mercy on Scotty and just click "YES" this once! Don't you hate killing dogs? After all it's just a barking dog and never bites!

perfume:

I keep a notebook for each of my 3 desktops.

The actual names and version numbers of every program and every driver in each computer is listed.

I also have Add Or Remove Programs set up with the actual names and version numbers.

When a program or driver gets updated, the version number gets updated in both locations.
