Internet Explorer 7.0 on land-line

Background: Bought computer new 2006.
Did a full wipe-clean Recovery using OEM Recovery disks, May, 2009.
Used pc-decrapifier 2.0 and removed bloat ware.
Tried to remove Norton, Symantecs Udates, etc.. Nothing will remove it
completely. Error messages say I can't remove it???

Now, I can't load AVG. A message says other brand AV software must be removed before loading AVG.

How do I remove this semi-installed Norton (HP put it on the computer, the owner-operator has to click on "Install".) and its accompanying software? Normal Remove doesn't do it.
