Would you mind stickying a thread at the top of the forums here concerning security tips geared toward other browsers other than IE? I have found the thread you have stickyed already most helpful, however, I have moved on to another browser and am no longer using IE. Maybe a similar thread for FireFox, Chrome, Etc! Thanks Gal!

Well we could always incorporate that into the same sticky but someone would have to write it up as I'm not familiar with other browsers than IE and Firefox and don't even know all the ins and outs of Firefox either.

Hi Cjkern1,

Though not a sticky, there are various browsers & their pros/cons reviwed at TechSupportAlert:
http://www.techsupportalert.com/best...eb-browser.htm

As with a lot of progs I think the best one is the one that meets your needs.

My "writing skills" aren't that great so it takes me a while to write up things like that which is why I don't add more pages to the library...I actually had plans of adding a browser hardening type page to the library in the future, but I don't really have the time to devote to that right now...

But if somone would like to write this up now I'd be willing to atleast help....I have good knowledge of Opera, Firefox, and Internet Explorer, and I'm familiar with a few others.

@1002richards - Link doesn't work.

There is always http://www.us-cert.gov/reading_room/securing_browser/ for browsers, and back up a page to http://www.us-cert.gov/reading_room/ for more.

Well it doesn't look like anytime soon at least so far.

EDIT: - Though I'm starting to get more interested in it ....maybe I can gradually go from one browser to another and add things....

You do not need to think in such absolute terms. I have IE 8, Firefox 3.0.*, and Opera 9.64 installed and can use whichever I choose.

I believe you're telling me I don't have to use just one browser?

I know I currently have all the browsers you listed as well as recently chrome installed on my computer and I switch between them. (Though I mostly use opera)

But I was referring to the hardening tips I'd start with researching one bowser and coming up with ways to harden it then move onto the next browser.
