Error Message (0xc0000142) issch.exe failed to initialize
I have a Dell, Windows XP computer that has never been connected to the internet. I started getting this error message four days ago. Other than the error message, I am not having any other problems with this computer as of yet. Can someone help me establish why I am getting these messages, if they are dangerous and how to eliminate them? Because I have never connected to the internet I am thinking the chances of a virus are very small. (hoping)

issch.exe is an update service relating to the InstallShield utility which keeps this software up to date.

Since you are not connected to the Internet, the software cannot update.

Click on Start, Run, type msconfig.

Under the Startup tab, locate the ISUSScheduler entry and uncheck it.

Reboot.

Thank you!
I will definitely give this a try. I feel so relieved to know that it is not related to a virus. Thanks again!
