Question NIS 2003 blocks web browsers
Not sure exactly when but as of about 2 months ago I suddenly found that I could no longer browse the internet (IE or Firefox) without turning off NIS 2003.
I can download emails using Outlook express and Norton Liveupdate still seems to run so it is not a complete lockout. I have checked firewall rules and there is nothing to obviously block IE or Firefox explicitly.
Finally given up trying to use the Norton support site to find a solution.
I thought I would post here as a last resort before giving up on Norton completely - I really don't want a later version of NIS as latest ones all seem to bring your PC to a halt.
I'm running XP.SP3

Any suggestions ?

Alan
