password to sign computer on
How do i set up my computer to need a password just to sign on, I have 3 grown adult kids that come over while i am at work and download music and videos and i would like to keep anyone from using my computer but me. So can you tell me how to set it up to need a password just to get the computer on

What version of Windows are you using? If it is a Vista computer, you go to control panel>User accounts and Family Safety>change your Password.
I'm not sure for other versions, but it will probably be something saying password, users, or accounts in the control panel. Just follow the instructions.

By the way, If you are using Vista, you might want to make a new account for your grown kids with Parental controls set, so they can still use it for what you want them to.
