McAfee problem.....
I'm getting a warning saying "your computer is not protected". My McAfee security centre is telling me that my "computer & files" and my " E-mail & IM " need attention. I've clicked "fix" only to be told that " the detection signature files are between 8 and 29 days old". I've clicked update and still nothing changes...any ideas? steve

What is your version of McAfee?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling it?

If you're having trouble uninstalling McAfee, try the McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool 2.0.155.1.

This usually indicates that you have an infection that has disabled the anti-virus. Try a free, online scan with TrendMicro.

Other free reputable online scanners include ESET, Kaspersky and BitDefender.

You may not have an installer at all.

I would recommend getting a new antivirus program anyway. McAfee is a system resource hog and isn't worth it.

Be sure to completely remove McAfee with the McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool 2.0.155.1 first.
