Hello, I'm new to this forum, it was recommended by a friend.
In the past few days I have playing around with Linux (Ubuntu)
I never installed it (although I looked into it, ie I was going to partition my hardrive, then decided not to)
Anyway, when I restarted my PC I got some error message about a corrupt file(can't remember any wording, sorry), I hit OK hoping when I logged in, some form of user friendly wizard would pop up and I could de-bug the problem.
How ever, all I receive is a bubble next to the tray the reads:
"Windows - Corrupt File
The file or directory "C:\system volume
information\_restore{1450A557-4027-4F57-AFFC-65B5F7AFB22A}\RP1284
Is corrupt and unreadable. Please run chkdsk utility."
So, I then went: Start --> run --> chkdsk
A prompt came up and ran for a bit, then closed..
I was none the wiser..
So I decided to post this!
Anyways;
Is this anything to worry about spyware/malware/virus/worm/trojan etc etc wise?
Could this have anything to do with me playing around with Linux? Baring in mind I only ever ran from a disk..
And Most Importantly, How do I fix this?
Any Help welcome, Thanks in Advance!
Please note, if any instructions are given, please make a very simple step by step guide as although I have a reasonable computer knowledge, I'm no good with vague Instructions, Thanks
