Hi deepakrulz,
This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support team.
Most likely the problem you are having is due to a corrupted installation of Norton AntiVirus 2009. The easiest way to resolve this issue is to properly remove and then reinstall the Norton AntiVirus 2009 trial. Please carefully follow the instructions below.
1. Click on the following link to download the Norton Removal Tool:
Norton Removal Tool and Instructions
2. After you run the tool, please restart your computer. Then log in to Windows again and run the removal tool again. Restart your computer after it is finished running the second time as well.
3. Click on the link below and fill out the information again to re-download the trial version of Norton AntiVirus 2009.
Download trial version of Norton AntiVirus 2009
4. After the installation is complete, launch Norton AntiVirus and then choose "Run LiveUpdate" to get the latest program and definition files applied to your installation. If any updates are installed, restart your computer. This process will also invoke the new "Pulse Updates" feature which will check for and install definition updates in the background every 5-15 minutes to make sure you are always protected against the latest threats.
5. Open Norton AntiVirus and select "Norton Insight" and let it scan your computer. This step will check the files on your system and white list the known good files, which will allow for faster scanning. When the Norton Insight process is complete, perform a "Full System Scan" to check for infections
6. Perform a "Full System Scan" with Norton AntiVirus 2009 to check for infections.
Thank you,
Mike
