Solved: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.37 question
Ever since I've installed the latest paid version of MBAM 1.37 (real-time scanning), randomly, when I boot my computer, it freezes completely after Windows has loaded (only the cursor can be moved). I can't do anything other than push the button to restart the computer.

I can't be absolutely sure it's caused by MBAM but it did start after the update.

I've checked on MBAM's support forum and it seems I'm not the only one with the issue. I did try the fix suggested, like adding a few MBAM files to my antivirus' exclusion list but to no avail.

Anybody else experiencing this problem?

Thanks for your input,

Phantom010

Is this after you click on a username after the Welcome screen?
Sometimes my computer does freeze as things (mostly startup items) are loading long after the bootup, but during user startup.

I never click on any user name. Windows loads by itself right through the desktop.

Well Phantom010,
Its maybe conflicting with your current AV. I would never rule out that possibility. Since you have the real time protection enabled both at the same time.

That's what I also thought but the MBAM's forum fix did not solve the problem. It happens only at startup, and perhaps twice a week.

Any chance that you use Winpatrol?
Put Malwarebytes as a Delayed startup item, as a test to see if there is a conflict.

No, I'm not using WinPatrol. I'm only using ESET Smart Security.

Dear phantom010,
Hi there! As pointed out above, KIS2009 is one real finicky Suite, but ESET is not. I run KIS and MBAM in real-time with no probs.and i found MBAM as a better identifyer and spotter of malware(strictly speaking) in real-time

Can you try these two methods? 1) Completely un-install MBAM (thru Revo) and re-install.2) Run a scan with ESET and see "if" MBAM figures there as whatever. That would surely point to a conflict.

I've completely uninstalled MBAM with a cleanup utility from the MBAM website's forum. Then I reinstalled the program and set the exclusions in ESET as advised. I only got the problem once since but I'll give it more time to see if it comes back.

I had MBAM version 1.36 in real-time and never had this issue before. Never should have updated.

Maybe a programming issue in version 1.37, hopefully they would rectify it.

Well, after entering a few MBAM files in my antivirus' exclusion list, and testing it for a few days, my computer didn't freeze anymore at startup.
