Question Solved: Registry Fix 7.1
Years ago I installed Registry Fix (RF) on my computer for a one time nominal fee. I have never had a problem with it, until now. I recently installed IObit 360 (beta) and a scan indicated that RF 7.1 is a rogue program. I have never experienced any of the symptoms of a rogue program as my computer runs quite smoothly.

Do any of you know what the story is with Registry Fix 7.1? Am I "playing with fire" or am I just experiencing a false positive. Thanks in advance.

Ditch any and all of these registy cleaners, fixers, optimizers, etc. Simply snake oil. They "guess" at what should and should not be in your registry and have no real performance gains that can be given to you, if anything we have seen horror stories here where these applications have gotten users to the point where the pc simply would not boot into windows and the only solution was a reinstall of windows. As for a false positive issue, i could not tell you that offhand but best solution is to remove it. Also for malware removal i would personally check out somthing known and trusted such as malware bytes antimalware or SUPERantispyware.

I see you have posted on the Iobit forums and received a response there from a moderator confirming that it's a rogue program.

Here another link showing it's not trustworthy:

And, as stated, we don't recommend using registry cleaners at all, even if they are legitimate programs, as they often cause more harm than good.
