I don't do a secure lock down like your posts in the lockdown thread, but I do use an anti-virus, firewall, and a couple other security programs.

I used to lock mine down, but since I installed Linux and made it default boot, I figure if anyone steals it they'll bring it back out of frustration.

if i knew how i think i'd like to lock it down... sounds interesting.

the more i can protect myself the better.

i'm even considering using windows only for gaming and setting up my pc with linux for everything else. dual boot. that way it's like being immune to the net.

i'm getting sick and tired of being afraid to browse the net or formatting windows once a year to start over to clean up a year of junk. if i make it so windows does nothing but game, it should be impossible to ever junk it up, and if linux works like i think it does, it TOO will never accumulate junk by default?

That is right and is exactly what I do.
