General security and speed of my pc.
I have had no problems with this pc for over a year. All the sudden, about a month ago, I don't know what happened, but my pc slowed down dramatically. I have had microsoft support assistants run a complete clean up on it. I used to run my spy-sweeper and it was always blank and it would just automatically catch cookies and protect my pc, well not now. I noticed that after every time of me using the internet, I catch a dozen cookies at a time, and about 1/3 to 1/2 come back, and then I get the random new ones here and there ( keep a list of most of the names). I run a sweep every1-2 days and my pc is still slow, and the cookies keep comming back. Please advise!

I clean up my temps all the time and sweep the pc daily is there anything else I can do to block my pc from these suckers? I must have downloaded something, a picture, a softwared program and something must have gotten screwed up and since then It takes for ever for me to get anything done here.

Please help.

It's normal to get back these cookies if you visit the same websites over and over again. You need not worry about cookies, they are mostly harmless. Some anti-spyware programs don't care about them. SuperAntiSpyware will notice them. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware couldn't care less about cookies.

Wow. I did not post this add for someone to tell me that my pc is fine and "normal", you should re-read what I wrote.

I am on here to get advise and help on how to troubleshoot a problem, your answer is not a solution to a problem.

I stated very clearly that since I have had these "spyware cookies such as

...that this not something normal for my pc!

If it would be my lap top would not slow down dramatically and freeze for 5 minutes sometimes because it desides to "think" for that long.

Now please if you are not a supper knowedgable about these topics and are not supper considerate and loving and supportive and interesded (asking more questions to make sure that it really is a problem) than please don't reply and tell me..... your situation is "NORMAL". I've used dozens of pc's and know what is normal and what is not. I just dont have all the right terminology to explain everything its doing and how to really troubleshoot all of these issues and get my laptop back to where i was a month ago.

Thanks...

Please also be aware that I'm very frustrated with the fact that this is even happening to my pc and am confused why it is doing this. So please be curtious and if you dont think you may be of assistance to this issue, please don't respond.

One of the reasons why I was supper hesitant to buy a home laptop with Vista was for these types of problems and I wonder if its just getting old and Vista is giving me issues after 1 year. Consequently when I bought it, I could not find any stores that would sell other business or professional or just home software that was not Vista... So bought it becaus I got a good discount on it.

..... Thanks again.

As I said, nothing to get all worked up about. Harmless. Just delete them if you don't want them. Or, block cookies in your browser's options. If you do block cookies though, a lot of websites won't work.

And yes, it's normal, very normal!

Read this and this.

if it is normall than why is it that I search all over the net and when ppl try to get rid of one of these cookies and it keeps comming back than its a real problem such as this one " 247realmedia cookie ".... but when I have dozens come back, and my pc freezes and it takes me like 1-two minutes just to open a word doc here than my problem is "norma"... Why is this particular cookie such an issue with others and and not an issue with me?

Another issue may be causing your computer to freeze.

Please click here to download and install the HijackThis installer.

Run it and select Do a system scan and save a logfile.

The log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and paste the log in your next post.

Do not fix anything
