What do you want to do with CCleaner? If you're looking to clean your registry, please forget about it. You'll only do more harm than good.

Thank you for your reply.
I use Ccleaner to delete the temporary files from browsers,drives...etc and as well as to clean the registry.
I heard that many registry cleaners does not help in improving the PC performance. Is it correct?

Exactly. TSG doesn't recommend using any registry cleaner. You may regret it.

I use ccleaner weekly, however, I disable the regedit box so it leaves the registry alone.
Like Phantom010 says, Most of us here advise to stay away from registry cleaners, because they can cause many problems.

If you use it from the administrator account it should clean the whole computer.

Dear bspkumar,
Ccleaner is excellent as long as it is used to clear the .temp files alone.I join the chorus to advise you against using it to clean(?) the Registry. I really think we should tell the folks at piriform.com to remove the "registry option" from Ccleaner.

ps:At piriform.com, you'll also find one of the best defragmenting tools, namely Defraggler(the new release is excellent and free).

need help
useful converse... do you have any idea about this....

I am seeking someone who might tell me the following. Is it likely that anyone contacting me on an instant messenger like myspace or msn to obtain my login password without me clicking on a link they send? The reason I ask is I have an old g/f who seems to always wish to know about personal info. What seems strange to me though is since she has learned that I do not talk about such as I see it as none of her business, yet she keeps me online for periods of time without actually saying anything. I refuse to click links or accept any transfer as I am suspicious of past behavior. So without doing this, could she obtain my password say to myspace? I do have zonealarm and it is set to the highest level both for the internet and trusted areas.

Thank you for your time as I know it is valuable.

Dear bspkumar,
The efficiency quotient may be the same, but it's the speed that matters! The previous versions of Piriform Defraggler were a bit slow, but the new one's a jet! If you have used the default defrag. in Windows, you will see how slow it actually is, whatever the used space maybe! Another very attractive defragmenting tool is the Auslogics Disk Defrag. Download site :www.auslogics.com/disk-defrag

I wish to introduce another free defragmenting tool,JKDefrag. It can be downloaded from :http://www.kessels.com/Jkdefrag/

Three very useful points to newbies before using a defrag. tool were mentioned by the programmer.1) Use Ccleaner to first clear up the .temp files. 2) Reboot, before defrag as it will allow files which were in use, available for defrag. 3) Stop the real time virus scanner before defrag. Many other useful tips can be found in his site. Please read.

Dear JackThomas,
Sorry for the late reply.Anyway, welcome aboard! Keylogging on to your pc is one of the methods employed to know what's clicking!
You seem to have cast a spell on your ex, as she wants to know who else is attracted to the king of the jungle(that's you). Man, can girls be jealous and how! Internet Messengers are a prob. and you can try using an anti-keylogger. I am giving a link to a website for a free version of such software.http://www.myplanetsoft.com/free/antikeylog.php

Another free program i use is :http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/
This program is excellent in many ways and the major updates are on Wednesday and Thursday of every week (Thanks to hewee).

Since ,no anti keylogger is 100% fool-proof, a suggestion from me would be,1)inform the friends you chat with that you are going to change your user name. 2) if possible change the IM and tell your buddies to chat over there! As Rod Stewart sang"some guys have all the luck and some guys have all the pain".Try listening to it on youtube and it's an excellent listen! Best wishes!
