Secunia personal software inspector( psi).
Dear friends,
This post has a special significance for me as it the 1000th post! Many senior members and pros in this site know about Secunia PSI. It is a wonderful tool to have on your PC. On the 24th of June ,Secunia came out with a new version and can be downloaded from here :http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/. You will have to add Secunia PSI to the "trusted Programs" in the firewall settings. Kindly use the simple interface and the "Advanced mode" is for professionals.

Another purpose of this post is to thank the guys and gals who have been supportive and helped me learn a lot about the myriad facets of a PC.
1) My first thanks go out to cookiegal, for keeping me on track whenever i was wrong!
2) Sniper aka hrlow2, who haunts three places. A)His Home, B) The hills and the mountains and C) Libraries(he reads a lot). Thank you ol' friend!

3) brett888, thank u! When will you quit smoking?
4)hewee, many thanks for HOSTS File intro' BillP and many more!
5) Jason08.Thank u for the weather updates and your undying faith in McAfee!
6) Gizzy, thanks a lot man, for making me understand Firewalls and Opera!
7) phantom080,thank u for showing me how to deal with brats in the site! You are really cool and i'll never forget the helping hand you extended for "repairing" HOSTS File.
8) Thanks to Elvandil, the Moderator for his deep knowledge and fine advise!
9) bitchey,where are you?
10) thanks to blitzkrieg for all the oriental wisdom and he's one cool dude!

My apologies to those folks whom i have failed to mention. Kindly pardon my blasted memory!

I pesonally am indebted to lotuseclat79, for showing how important it is to secure the pc without going overboard. I wish to thank him for getting me interested in open source systems, especially Linux and his influence on me has been so much that i have bought 5 books on learning Linux hands-on! My Colt is cocked and ready to spring to defend the internet's independence as he has taught me! Thank you!!
