Smile Solved: safe to unsubscribe
Years ago I heard that if you click on link to unsubsribe to email list, you make matters worse because they then send your email to unsolicited junk lists. Is it unsafe to click the unsubscribe link on emails that I know are safe to open (e.g., newsletters or organizations i once joined). thanks in advance.

I've unsubscribed to newsletters etc that I had originally signed up to and I've had no problems.
The ones I wont unsubscribe from are the spam emails. Like you I'm under the impression that if you click any link in any spam email you are confirming your existence and then the junk will merely continue or increase.

Same here, except i got the pitstop news letter into my spam box when i had to flag it as "not spam". The real spam is just flushed everyday!
