Solved: Bad link
At this webpage http://forums.techguy.org/general-se...elp-tools.html Under the heading "Rootkit Detection and Removal Information
" is a link that I believe is bad ... Rootkit Detection and Removal as I get a "Internet explorer cannot display webpage" error when I click on it. I'm using Windows XP Home sp3 with IE8.

The link doesn't work. It is a general discussion of rootkits. Use a search engine.

That page needs to be updated but for now, I've replaced that link with one that goes to the Sohos rootkit tool.

You're welcome. But if you suspect you have a rootkit or other infection, I recommend asking for assistance in the Malware Removal & HijackThis Logs forum.

I'm not really having any problems, SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes and my antivirus scans all come up clean. Just wanted to run an anti-root-kit scan if there is such a thing ? I see alot of folks with real probs at the HiJackThis thread and it don't seem right to bother the techs if nothings really wrong.

No problem. You could give the Sohos tool a try.
