Angry Trend Micro PC-Cillin removal
I have been trying for days to remove this software from my computer (2008 HP Pavilion Slimline with Windows Vista) So far unsuccessful
(tried 7 times!) unless I want to purchase a program to uninstall it. I had the bright idea of upgrading the program to a 2009 version to see if I could remove that version instead since I knew it would remove the first one. Trend Micro installation was unable to uninstall the older version!
Has anyone else had this problem? I want to run a different anti-virus program but the PC-cillin is causing compatibility issues!

(Every time I run a virus scan the computer freezes and then eventually reboots showing an "unexpected shutdown" error message. )

"Revo Uninstaller" has been reported here at TSg as being able to handle the worst problems. Here is the GOOGLE page with references:

I think it's always best to go with the author's removal tools before using third party programs. Most anti-virus programs have their own tools to make sure all components are removed after a failed uninstall.

Cookiegal is right, use the Trend Micro uninstaller soleildog. Most of the commercial antivirus programs now have their own uninstallers.
