Question Solved: Feedback Needed: ESA SECURITY
I have already started a thread in the previous day named
Do you have more than one antivirus in your computer...?!?!
http://forums.techguy.org/general-se...more-than.html
There i have given you the link of ESA security products supported by renowned venders. The four products
ANTIVIRUS SECURITY, INTERNET SECURITY, TOTAL SECURITY & PORTABLE SECURITY have large installers, 226, 394, 406 & 298 MB respectively (Download it from Softpedia). So it is quite awkward for dial-up connection holders to download it.
But is has lot of features, no of backup & online AV's & AS, all running under the same process. So you are not running multiple AV. So, they are not supposed to conflict. In their webpage they have given the features of the products. probably (as it is not clearly mentioned) they use PANDA CLOUD ANTIVIRUS as the realtime antimalware & OUTPOST FREE FIREWALL as the firewall. it includes Malwarebytes, Kaspersky Removal Tool, Norman Malware Cleaner, Dr Web Cure it, Vipre virus scanner etc in the security package.
Here i'm giving the link again
http://esasecurity.ucoz.com/

I'm also providing the features link
ANTIVIRUS SECURITY

INTERNET SECURITY

TOTAL SECURITY

PORTABLE SECURITY

Are you by any chance advertising for ESA? It sure is starting to look like it.
You also should have continued in your original thread.

Certainly not. It may look like that, but as i am a new member in TSG or any similar kind of forum, i am not sure how to give any information about new softwares. I love free softwares and when ESA came with such a long range of products, i got excited. I have already downloaded all of them but i am using AVIRA SECURITY SUITE right now & have no intension to leave it until knowing about a security suite very well. Information that i have provided is already given in ESA security website & in softpedia, i am not providing any additional information. I am just waiting for someone who will test it and review about it as there is no such review available in google except in their homepage.
I've also provided this because except softpedia i've not seen the name of that security suite elsewhere.
Now, if you tell that i'm advertising ESA security, then i will tell 'yes', i am advertising for me to get the review and for those who like similar kind of software.
I don't know whether this kind thread is forbidden in TSG or not. Please let me know that.
I'll take care about that in future.

Well, it doesn't seem forbidden since no Moderator has closed the thread so far. I guess it's ok.

I personaly do not have any information to share on ESA security. If the product is free and interesting to you, why not try it and give us your own feedback? ESA isn't well known here on TSG so I don't think you'll get a lot of feedback on it.

Happy trial!

This software has changed names at least three times (formerly GSA Security and Cobra Security) so that, in itself, makes me suspicious. And some of the links you refer too seem iffy at best. don't see much mention of it in the known malware communities and I' wondering if they are authorized to include some of the programs they are including.

Thanks a lot Gizzy for those links. It seems that ESA security did not acquire good reputation from users. May be that's the reason of why they have changed the name of the product twice.

You're Welcome.

A different program that seems to be more popular on that forum is Hitman Pro
Here's a thread about it http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=236732

It's not free though and I've never tried it.
It scans using Avira, A-squared, Eset, and Prevx.
And you'll need an internet connection to scan since it's an in the cloud scanner.
Since the scanning is in the cloud I don't think there should be conflicts. But the false positive rate is probably high using multiple scanners.

Also it's just a scanner it doesn't offer any real-time protection.

Yes i have tried Hitman Pro few days back. It was quiet interesting to me but unfortunately not free.
But it scans only computer memory for active threats not the total system drive or all drives.

I don't know what ESA is doing. They have updated their security products today in Softpedia. They have reduced the sizes of their installers greatly.
Total Security 101MB
Internet Security 90MB
Antivirus Security 76.80MB
Portable Security 24MB
Not sure whether thay have kept all features, although it has been told in their "What's New" section, that 4 virus scanners have been added...!!!
