Solved: Advice Needed: Javascript message
My internet browser (IE7) opens at fairly frequent intervals on its own accord with a note in the web address box: "Javascript: clickRefresh0". The browser does NOT open any websites.
I have undertaken a full virus scan (Panda Internet Security) but no viruses etc were found.
Operating system is XP Home Edition SP3.
How do I stop the 'Javacsript' message?

Dear abbeynat99,
Welcome to TSG! What A-V and Firewall are (if at all) installed ( A-V updated ) on your PC? Do you have Mozilla Firefox Browser? You may download it from : http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html

Once the installation is complete, kindly let us know whether you are facing a similar problem in the new browser. You will have to install NoScript Add-on in the firefox browser to function properly, before you use it! Download : http://noscript.net/getit

Best wishes.

I too recommend that add-on but it is certainly not necessary to have for Firefox to function properly.

Dear RootbeaR,
Have a heart! NoScript was and is,that's keeping FF from disintegrating and allowing guys like me keep the faith in that browser! Possibly, "essential" was too powerful a word to use, but it certainly proved over time that Java Script attacks were mitigated to a very large extent by NoScript Add-On! I will not brook any second opinion on thatlol!

Your original statement borders on FUD.

Lots of people haven't even heard of the add-on. Or add-ons for that matter!

Dear RootbeaR,
Thank God, you didn't say FUDD! I can live with that,no probs. Whether you like it or not, you will have to hear and understand the value and need for Add-Ons, once you start using Firefox! The number of downloads of firefox has crossed one BILLION , two days back and counting!

PS:
If someone is stuck with IE ,it's their business! It's a free world we live in, with choices galore!

Thank youi for your reply. I didn't want to download another browser. The problem has eventually been fixed by running Malwarebytes Anti-Malware that identified the malware that was causing the problem.
