There isn't any. With 800 new pieces of malware being released on the internet every minute, and maybe 20,000 each day, there is no anti-malware program that can keep up. Many are needed, or preventative measures need to be taken.

As far as "removal" itself goes, it is almost always a lot more difficult than just removing. The damage and changes made also need to be repaired, and that is why we have the trained experts in the Malware forum.

Free anti-malware:

Dr. Freeware Boot CD Avast Scanner (also has partitioning tool, file recovery, drive cloner/imager)
Dr. Web Cure-It
Comodo Anti-Malware
Threatfire Free Edition
MalwareBytes trial
A-Squared
PrevX CSI Free Version
Spybot S&D
RunScanner
Ad-Aware
SuperAntiSpyware
Spyware Eliminator
Emco Malware Destroyer
Spyware Doctor
All-Seeing Eye (Monitors system - pretty annoying at first until all safe processes have been approved, but settings can be changed)
Arovax Anti-spyware
Trend-Micro Rootkit Buster
F-Secure Blacklight
Bootzilla (Bootable anti-malware CD with many other tools.)

"Instant" Anti-virus (No installation--just download and run the scanner):

Dr. Web Cure-It
McAfee Stinger
Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool (This one installs but offers to uninstall after the scan. A fresh download contains the most recent virus definitions.)
PING with Clam (A bootable disk imaging CD with added anti-virus)

List of freeware security software
Guide to Free Security Software (ScanComplete Site)

Virtualization Solutions (Malware attacks become impossible because either the browser or the whole operating system are isolated from the real system):

SandboxIE (Virtualizes IE, Firefox, or any other browser and works on most other programs, too)
VMWare Browser Appliance (Runs in the free VMWare Player. The Player also will run any of 100's of preconfigured operating system and appliance images downloadable for free from VMWare, and you can even make your own VM's to run in it with the open-source VMmanager)
Artificial Dynamics Safe Space (Similar to SandboxIE, safe browsing and protection from malware and hackers)
Fortes Grand Virtual Sandbox
Microsoft Web Sandbox (Open-Source) (In development but usable)
Returnil Virtual System (The Premium version allows you to save all changes inside the virtual OS to the real system, but even the free version has a virtual drive where items can be saved outside the virtual container)
Windows Steady State (Now supports Vista, too)

Dear cmshelper,
The gentleman above (Elvandil) taught me thus the value of a regular "Backup and Restore"! He further introduced to me the software needed for it(Free), Macrium Reflect! Buy a good External HDD (500 to 750GB) and backup the iso image of your system to it! Web site to download the free version : http://www.macrium.com/download.asp

This Backup and Restore has saved me many a times and every Euro/Dollar, you spend buying the external HDD is worth it's weight in Gold!

Most members have Malware bytes anti-malware(free or paid), Super anti-spyware(free or paid), SpywareBlaster and a good A-V with pro-active defense to counter with what little resistance we can, the "Malware"! Best wishes.

I download just about all of my software at CNET downloads.

http://download.cnet.com/windows/

They have Editors who write reviews and rate most software available - both freeware and paid versions. Most software is also rated by users.

Dear cmshelper,
The "best" in best security parlance is very relative! I manage somehow, with this software (most of them endorsed by very senior folks in this site):

1) Free Anti-Virus-- Avira Antivir OR Avast (both have real-time protection, and that's a Big plus)
You want to buy, ESET smart security suite(nod32) OR Kaspersky Internet sec.suite 2009.

2)Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (Free or Paid)
3)Super Anti-spyware(free or paid)
4) Comodo Memory Firewall (free)
5)Spybot Search and Destroy( with Tea-Timer)
6)Secunia Psi,
7)SpywareBlaster
8)HOSTS File Download site : http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

To update the HOSTS File, you need a software and the best around is ( courtesy hewee) HOSTS Man ,which you can download the stable version from : http://www.abelhadigital.com/

Why HOSTS File at all? Read ,remember and understand on this site : http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

As a final touch to end my canvas, please download and install A) Ccleaner and B) Defraggler!

It is a good policy to download softwares from the original websites, rather than other download sites, the only caveat being if you encounter problems downloading from the originators site!

I hope you are satiated now!
