Exclamation Can someone help?
I have AVG Internet Security 8.5 and firewall ect, and windows security center reports that it is turned off but when i go into avg everything appears to be fine. At first i thought it might be malware or a trojan but i scanned with malwarebytes' Anti-malware thanks

Dear Martin71,
First off, kindly check whether you are the Administrator. You can easily verify this by RIGHT-clicking on "Start",if you can see "Open all users" and "Explore all users" at the bottom, then you are indeed the Admin.

Okay, many AVG users seem to be having this problem, as reported in Vistaheads forum : http://www.vistaheads.com/forums/mic...-software.html

You can uninstall and re-install AVG! If you are the admin. " Windows Security Center does not recognize my anti-virus software
I recently purchased the full version AVG and it works great but Vista does
not recognize that I have a anti-virus running. What do I need to do? I have
tried fixing it in the command prompt with winmgmt/salvagerepository and
winmgmt/ verifyrepository but they both tell my access denied but I am the
admin on the comp so it should not do that! is there any other way to fix
this?

ANSWER : run Command Prompt, by right-clicking the shortcut and choosing "Run
as Administrator" (source--Vista forums).

See how it goes and please get back and tell us all! Best wishes!

thanks
yea i had tried that and it did bring it on again but after a few hours it went off.So i did some more research and tried to link it with some other problems on my machine and it come to my attention that it was most likely caused by a virus so i ran a few online virus scanners and found that there was a few trojans ect (that avg and malwarenytes didnt pick up) so i cleaned them up and restarted my computer and it was working fine and as yet there hasnt stopped, and i havnt had a problem! so thanks again,
