Ftp server hacker
Today i looked at the logs of my FTP server and i found out that someone in china tried to break my password security, there are 5718 attempts over an hour at getting into the computer at this ip address 219.134.242.67 i have blocked him on free ftp, but is there anything else i should do from stopping this Chinese ip from getting into my computer. Here is an example of the log this goes on and on to 5718 attempts.

change your admin password to a passphrase. and make it long ( say 15 chars or more ) and use also numerals and symbols. Try also using some non-dictionary spellings.

from the numerous attempts, I would say he is trying to guess the password - not the quickest approach and it will take time. Fortunately if you make your passphrase as above, it will take him forever.
