safetly internet tips for a company
hi everyone.

i'm looking for some information/tips. to how can you make internet browsing safe in a company. Having in mind that you will have users that doesn't know much about spyware and virus.

i need information about some good firewalls it doesnt matter if you have to pay for or not.but that can block blocks some site, restrict internet for some user,block spams , ect . what kind of site I should block. what about messenger? AIM? Yahoo? what i'm looking for is . How to make a good internet habit for a company? i hope i have been clearly enough.

My friend earns in the region of 1000 pounds a day for IT security consultancy; googling for internet security tips will give you a lot of information, but if you're serious about security in your organisation, pay a professional.

well it's kinda a small project that i'm doing for myself. and i was looking if someone who has some good sites , documantion or something similair that i can read about it. and maybe put them in practice.

There's a feature on XP Pro that will give you a wide set of rules you'll be able to apply for all users. It's called the Group Policy Editor.

Click on Start > Run > and type gpedit.msc.

You can find more info on Group Policies by Googling a bit.

As for security software, you'll find A LOT of threads on this forum about the subject.

ok ..the info you gave me is usefull but can i use this for a network with about 50 pcs in 1 domain.

The SANS Internet Storm Center is a site maintained by, and for, network admins that contains useful information and may be a good starting point to look for other info; http://isc.sans.org/
