All week I've been playing World of warcraft and I had some trouble with the in game play I was told by a Gamemaster of Wow to delete serial folders me doing so I acidently deleted a Data folder which was a bad thing as I couldn't play Wow nor repair it, I went to do a System restore hoping to bring the Folder back "I'm still pretty new when it comes to system restores" Well after setting a back date of just Yesterday my Avira anti virus played up not liking the system restore it would not update nor shield my computer. well just because it was playing around and plus I only had couple days left of trial I went to install Avg anti virus program from Avg web site I managed to install it OK and run scan but it wouldn't update and my whole computer was slow I tried to browse the web and I couldn't even get on 1 page because of the lag I was getting "to cut this short" I uninstalled Avg and reinstalled Avira managing to install everything fine and it manage to find that I had a virus I deleted the virus and everything working normal but I still left with my problem with my game .

Was it really Avg that gave me a virus? please leave any comments about my thread and I hope you enjoy reading it

No, AVG doesn't give any viruses.

As for your game, I cannot really help you since we do not know exactly what you've deleted. Perhaps you should go back to the Gamemaster and ask for his advice.

Please click here to download and install the HijackThis installer.

Run it and select Do a system scan and save a logfile.

The log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and paste the log in your next post.

Ah thanks I get on that now and the game issue sorted I only incuded that to show how it come about as I have Avira installed before and no virus but once reinstalled it found one which made me feel like Avg had something to do with it.

Well, there's no sign of infection in your log. It's perfectly clean. Of course, it doesn't mean you're not infected as HijackThis doesn't always show everything. But, it looks promissing.

As for your game issue, I'm afraid I cannot help you as I'm not familiar with the game nor do I know what you've deleted.

not to worry about the game I've sorted that out myself well I'll leave this thread as solved mystery then =p thanks for replying anyway oh btw I did mention that the Virus was deleted by Avira didn't I? that is why its not shown up in hijacking but then again it must of come from Avg some how.

If you uninstalled Avira and started browsing without protection to search and download AVG, that's when you might have been infected.
