Hi,
You should have only one running in 'real time'. If you have two running at once they may conflict. You can have a second prog to run scans as a double check eg Malwarebytes.
My real time one is Avast, others prefer Avira.

Thanks for your reply Richard. So I downloaded Avira as the real time and Malwarebytes as a second program to run scan as double check. Now my computer keep poping "No firewall is turn on" Do I need to download a firewall? If so, one firewall + Avira + Malwarebytes, would it be too much to get conflict? Which firewall do you recommand to install?

mini123:

Don't confuse anti-virus programs and anti-malware/anti-spyware programs as being one and the same. They serve different purposes.

I have 2 anti-malware/anti-spyware programs installed, but my anti-virus program is the only one that I allow to run in the background.

About once a week, I manually update my anti-malware/anti-spyware programs and then manually run a scan with them - one at a time, of course.

You never, never want to have 2 anti-virus programs installed and running in the background. They'll fight with each other and bog down your computer and make it more susceptible to infection.

I see. So I have Avira running active at all time, can I run the Malwarebytes scan when Avira is running active? or I need to turn off Avira then run the Malwarebytes scan? What about firewall? Do I still need a firewall when I have Avira and Malwarebytes on my computer?

Thanks a lot!!!!!

I run a scan with Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware and leave Grisoft AVG running, and it doesn't interfere with the scans.

Since you're using Avira AntiVir(which I've never used), I don't know if it'll interfere with the scan. If it prevents the scan from running, then turn it off first.

Personally, I use Kaspersky and Malwarebytes.
You should not use 2 AV's.
