Windows update error
Hi, I keep getting an error everytime I try to download the windows update. It will get up to like 99% and then the error would pop up. Its the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) x86 and error code 57 pops up and it says that windows update has encountered an unknown error. Has anyone else had this issue? I have Windows Vista Home Premium. Thanks in advance!!

Hi,

Take a look at the steps provided in this thread where this issue was Solved:

http://forums.techguy.org/windows-nt...ws-update.html

Yes, you will have to find out the previous versions of .NET apps you have and reinstall as it says. Do it exactly as the steps tell you and check the LINKS in the thread to Microsoft info.
