Access is denied to some folders, Vista
Is there any way I can tell Vista that I am the owner of the laptop, and want permission to see ALL folders, files and content. I'll try to see something in the Windows Explorer and get "access is denied". I have worked on computers for 30 years and being denied access to my own machine is not acceptable. Can I turn this totally off?
When I got my laptop (Dell 1525 Inspiron) I set my own user to the same permissions as "Admistrator" then deleted the user.
Thanks, DRK

If you have the admin account, you can take ownership of files and folders. Right click on the file/folder, choose Properties, then Security Tab, then Advanced Button, then Owner tab.
